Do you suffer from alopecia or baldness? It is the only FDA approved hair loss drug to help reduce dihydrotestosterone (DHT) a byproduct of testosterone.   DHT is a chemical in the bodies which attacks hair follicles and prevent hair growth thus causing balding. Propecia inhibits DHT formation in the hair follicle system.

Taking tablets orally, such as prescription Propecia is only one of many options for treating male pattern hair loss. The other forms of treatment and/or hair loss replacement are: topical making use of lotions and shampoos; use of devices such as laser treatment, toupees and wig; and surgery or hair transplant.

When you decide to take Prescription Propecia, be aware that it is only a treatment and not a total cure and is only for mild or moderate male pattern hair loss. You need to have patience as results are not perceptible within a three-month period.  Testimony of some guy who used Propecia revealed that they began to see results in 12 months.

There are precautions to be wary about in the use of Prescription Propecia.   The drug is available by prescription only so you need to consult a doctor before buying Propecia. This is certainly not for women. In effect, it is not for the treatment of female hair loss. Pregnant women should not handle crushed Propecia tablets because of the danger that the active ingredient in the tablet may interfere with the sexual organ of a child.

Likewise, a small percentage of propecia users subjected to clinical trials have reported reduced sexual activity due and erection difficulties. So it is therefore important to carefully weigh the benefits of regaining the crowning glory as against sacrificing sexual capacity.
